Replacing The Oil And Oil Filter On A Stelvio/Giulia 2.9 Quadrifoglio

These guides serve as an introduction into various Alfa maintenance tasks, and are designed to give Alfa owners a better understanding of the work that is involved. These are not full Alfa Romeo workshop manuals, where you will find the official techniques, technical specs and important safety considerations, which we would recommend you study before attempting any of these tasks.

Unclip the air box outlet pipes on both sides.

Disconnect the two breather hoses on both sides.

Separate the two rubber concertinas to the air housing box.

Remove the air housing box.

The cap to the oil filter housing is 32mm.

Remove the cap and oil filter.

…and drain the oil into a suitable container.

Using a new sump plug washer replace the sump plug.

Screw the new oil filter back into the oil filter housing.

Pour in the recommended engine oil (about 7.5 litres but check your hand book) and screw the filler cap back on.

Start the engine briefly to circulate the oil. The dip stick is located just in front of the oil filler cap.

Check the level on the dip stick and top up the oil if needed.
