Replacing The Fuel Filter On A Giulietta

Replacing The Fuel Filter On A Giulietta

These guides serve as an introduction into various Alfa maintenance tasks, and are designed to give Alfa owners a better understanding of the work that is involved. These are not full Alfa Romeo workshop manuals, where you will find the official techniques, technical specs and important safety considerations, which we would recommend you study before attempting any of these tasks.

The fuel filter is located under the bonnet by the left wing in front of the coolant tank.

Disconnect the inlet pipe on top by pushing the white button in and pulling the pipe upwards. The outlet pipe is done by sqeezing in the green buttons on the side.

Unbolt the retaining bracket with a 10mm socket

Remove the bottom plug

Unscrew the bottom sending unit over a suitable container and leave the filter to drain.

Remove the old seal from the sending unit (as the new filter comes supplied with one fitted) and screw it into the new filter making sure not to over tighten it. Reverse the process for fitting.
