Looking For Corrosion And Wear On Your Brake Pads And Discs.

Looking For Corrosion And Wear On Your Brake Pads And Discs.

These guides serve as an introduction into various Alfa maintenance tasks, and are designed to give Alfa owners a better understanding of the work that is involved. These are not full Alfa Romeo workshop manuals, where you will find the official techniques, technical specs and important safety considerations, which we would recommend you study before attempting any of these tasks.

Check how much meat you have on the outer brake pad….

….and the inner pad, minimum thickness is 1.5mm
See that the wear indicator wire is still intact.

Check if there’s an outside lip developing on the front face of the brake disc (this disc has), pitting….

…and build up of corrosion/rust on the back.

On the edge of a new brake disc there should be the minimum thickness stamped, this one is 20.2mm
