How To Change The Oil Cooler On A GTV 3.0 Litre

These guides serve as an introduction into various Alfa maintenance tasks, and are designed to give Alfa owners a better understanding of the work that is involved. These are not full Alfa Romeo workshop manuals, where you will find the official techniques, technical specs and important safety considerations, which we would recommend you study before attempting any of these tasks.

Remove protective bracket for oil cooler pipes

Remove oil filter

Remove off side road wheel

Remove off side wheel arch liner

Undo oil feed pipe to oil cooler above oil filter, you need a stumpy 22 mm spanner and it is extremely hard to undo

Remove other oil feed pipe to the oil cooler, again you need a stumpy 22mm spanner and it is also very difficult to undo

Remove oil cooler and pipes as one unit, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to get these pipes off the oil cooler and so you will need to replace the cooler and both pipes

Re fit new oil cooler and lines, top up oil and make sure that the brake is free of oil
