Changing the oil and filter on a Giulietta multiair

Changing the oil and filter on a Giulietta multiair

These guides serve as an introduction into various Alfa maintenance tasks, and are designed to give Alfa owners a better understanding of the work that is involved. These are not full Alfa Romeo workshop manuals, where you will find the official techniques, technical specs and important safety considerations, which we would recommend you study before attempting any of these tasks.

These are the tools you will require to complete this task

Remove top cover of engine

The oil filter housing is circled in red in this picture

Undo filter housing using a 27mm socket ratchet and long extension

Remove filter and seal from housing off the vehicle in a clean environment

Fit new seal and clip in new oil filter and refit using the reverse of the above procedure

To change the oil first take off the oil filler cap and put it on the front panel so you cant close the bonnet without putting it back on the car, then remove the undertray

Undo the sump plug

Drain the oil into a suitable container and dispose of carefully
